Instead of doing my typical vector portraits or 80’s style airbrush chrome art, I focused on what I once had a passion for, painting. This betta fish was inspired by recent trips to local pet stores, and marveling at the color patterns and fin shapes of these little creatures. Inspired by their flowing and wavy fins, I wanted to paint one using Synthwave colors. This is the end result. Though this piece was digitally painted, it harkens back to what I used today on traditional oil and acrylic medium. One day hopefully I’ll get a painting setup and make this form of art once again the traditional way as opposed to digital.
