Saturday Morning Breakfast Kaboom!

With an almost combined 12 hours of painstaking sketching, inking, painting, texturing and layering, #Kaboom is finally done. Let me preface by saying this is NOT a stock photo of an old cereal box! Zoom in, see the hand painted details on the cereal pieces, and find the textures. The cereal has a bit of pop culture status, having made cameo appearances in Kill Bill Vol 1, to being spotted on sitcoms, cartoons and beyond. It was sadly discontinued in 2010 after @generalmills pulled the line after just over 40 years on store shelves. With the resurgence of retro in modern day, my hope is our good friends at General Mills notices the love and admiration for this vintage cereal, and maybe bring it back so new generations of families can enjoy it once more. The smell and taste are nostalgic, and definitely unlike any other breakfast cereal I had eaten back in the day. This piece connects with my childhood, and is made in homage to the wonderful memories I had with this cereal.
